(Folio) 35.5x20.5 cm (14x8"), full period elaborately blind tooled pigskin, raised spine bands, metal clasps, remnants of leather page tabs, edges stained blue.

Francisco Arias was a Spanish Catholic author, known as a writer of ascetical treatises. Arias was commonly regarded as a saint, and was known for his gift of prayer and his spirit of penance. Arias was held in high esteem by John of Avila, and his works are recommended by St. Francis of Sales in his Introduction to a Devout Life.

Lot Amendments

Wear and staining to boards, metals clasps intact and in working order, binding tight; interior sound with some light foxing, some wormholing to blank leaves at rear, a solid copy; very good.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
