Excerpts from the "History" of John of Xiphilinus, 11th century monk/historian.

Cassius Dio or Dio Cassius was a Roman statesman and historian of Greek origin. He published 80 volumes of history on ancient Rome, beginning with the arrival of Aeneas in Italy. The volumes documented the subsequent founding of Rome, the formation of the Republic, and the creation of the Empire, up until 229 AD

Darkening to vellum, remnants of labels on spine; small ownership label on front pastedown, tears to bottom edges of endpapers and blank leaves at front and rear, scattered small areas of wormholing not affecting text, soiling/dampstaining to bottom margin throughout; good or better.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
