2 volumes. viii, 445, [1]; viii, 504 pp. With 361 plates (one folding). 28x20 cm (11x9") original quarter dark red morocco, cloth boards, spines lettered in gilt, top edge gilt, others untrimmed, marbled endpapers. New Edition. 

The third edition of this collection of Kay's works, originally published four decades earlier. This was the last use of the original copper plates, which had passed from Hugh Paton to A. & C. Black; they were touched up for this edition and destroyed afterward.

Lot Amendments

Rubbing and some scuffing to bindings, corner tips worn; hinges cracked, vol. 1 front free endpaper detached and laid in with large chip to fore-edge; interior with light toning, browning to tissue guards; overall very good.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
