Title page + 30 columns of text on [15] pp. Profusely illustrated from photographs; map. 23x20.3 cm (9¼x8"), vertically folded as issued.

Rare early promotional brochure for Fort Lauderdale, Spring Break destination for thousands of college students in future years. The city was incorporated in 1911 (then numbering just 200 residents, as noted in the brochure, four years later 5,000 residents were claimed. The selection of photographs is enthralling - one of them is noted as being taken in November of 1914. OCLC/WorldCat locates only one example, at the Alachua County Library, listing the date as 1915, the years Fort Lauderdale was designated the county seat of newly formed Broward County. Fort Lauderdale's first major development began just in the early1920s, during the Florida land boom.
