Description:

Three volumes. Edited by "His Sister-in-Law and his Eldest Daughter (Mamie Dickens and Georgina Hogarth)."  (8vo) original decorated maroon cloth, gilt decorations and lettering, housed in a cloth slipcase with a printed paper label. Second Edition of Vols. 1 & 2; First Edition of Vol. 3

Inscribed on half-title of Volume I to "Walter Theodore Watts-Dunton / from / Algernon Charles Swinburne / August 8th 1899." This edition of Dickens' letters was completed in two volumes in 1880 by the editors to be a supplement of Foster's Life of Dickens. When a large body of additional correspondence became available, they issued the supplementary third volume.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
