A selection of miscellaneous miniature volumes, each with a clasped metal case.

includes:

  • Miniature Souvenir Paris photo album. 8 b&w photographs of Paris landmarks. 24x33 mm, bound accordian style in embossed metal case with clasp. General light wear; very good. [c.1900?]
  • Franz, Joseph I of Austria. An Meine Volfer! [To My People!] 47 pp. 25x20 mm, plain wrappers, housed in metal locket with bas relief portrait of Joseph on the front; the rear panel reads "das Manifest des Kaisers 23 Mai 1915." No copies located at OCLC. General light wear; very good. Munich, [1915].
  • Codex Argenteus. Bibliothecae R. Univ. Upsaliensis.  [32] pp. 30x25 mm. Wrappers Housed in an embossed hinged silver case. The Codex Argenteus (Silver Book/Codex), is a 6th-century manuscript, originally containing bishop Ulfilas's 4th century translation of the Bible into the Gothic language. A charming souvenir miniature. Light toning; very good or better. Upsala: K.G. Markstrums Guldsmeds, 1963.
  • Thomas, Peter and Donna. Bird Word. [14 pp.] Combines seven bird shaped printers' dingbats with watercolor and type printed on Peter's handmade paper. Leather bound with a bird in gold stamped on the cover; housed in glass case with metal cover, illustrated inlay. "39 copies made for Donna's birthday." This is an out of series copy designated as an Artist's Proof. Fine. P&DT, 1996.

We have a full service shipping department to ensure proper packing and safe delivery of purchases at reasonable cost. We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
