Elaborately illustrated with inserted plates, many from photographs, some colored, many on silk, folding color maps, etc. (8vo) 23.5x16 cm (9¼x6¼") original three quarter crushed red morocco and marbled boards, spines with raised bands, gilt-decorated compartments; marbled endpapers, top edges gilt. No. 28 of 50 of the Tokugawa Edition.

Deluxe edition with many extras, including include high quality paper, watercolor frontispiece on silk, hand-colored watercolor vignettes throughout, folding color maps. Japan volumes with wood-block color prints by Hokusai. Scarce edition of this wonderfully illustrated set.

Some general wear and scuffing to bindings; vol. 6 with rear board detached but present, vol. 6 map with irregular folds and some tears, interiors with usual toning, occasional light foxing; overall very good.

We have a full service shipping department to ensure proper packing and safe delivery of purchases at reasonable cost. We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
