Francis Preston Blair, printer

(4to) contemporary purple blindstamped and gilt decorated morocco, gilt lettering. First Edition.

The official account of a year's worth of spending of the United States government during the administration of Andrew Jackson. This copy is particularly interesting: on the spine is gilt stamped "Public Accounts / 1831" and on the upper board is gilt stamped "President of the / United States." This copy was presumably for use at the White House.
