104 leaves.  Manuscript translation of what seems a section from Speiser's Ethnographic Material from the New Hebrides and the Banks Islands (Ethnographisches Materialen aus den Neues Hebriden und den Banks Inseln), several plates with manuscript notes, and a file of negatives of the German text. Apparently a publisher's file for the English translation by D.Q. Stephenson. Included is an archive of 26 mounted cabinet sized albumen photographs and four larger albumen prints of Samoan islanders.

Felix Speiser was a Swiss anthropologist who conducted several research trips to the New Hebrides and other South Pacific islands. Speiser's work is characterized by reliability of observation and versatility. Forty years after his death, his standard work on the New Hebrides titled Ethnology of Vanuatu was translated into English at the behest of the Vanuatu government.
