Description:

[60] pp. With 46 mounted albumen photographs on stiff gilt-framed stock. Most photos 19.8x23.2 cm (8x10") with a few in smaller format. Some photographs en face with advertisements and descriptive text. (Oblong folio) 26x36.5 cm (10¼x14½"), polished calf album with gilt-stamped cover title.

Offered with print advertisement for Taber's New Photographic Parlors, 22.8x14 cm (5½x9"). Also with a loose albumen photograph "Hotel Del Monte in Mid-Winter", 25x19.2 cm (9¾x7½").  Most photos with Taber's logo and identification number.  Isaiah West Taber was the leading entrepreneurial photographer of 19th-century California and the self-proclaimed master of the instantaneous photograph. Of particular note is the interior view of the Taber studio.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
