The introduction of color into photography immediately and profoundly changed the character of the field. This publication of The Studio was important: because "never before has it been possible to arrange so representative a series by [photographers] so diverse..." Featuring works by many of the leading American and European photographers of the day, including Clarence H. White, James Craig Annan, Baron De Meyer, Annie Brigman, Alvin Langdon Coburn, Gertrude Kasebier, Heinrich Kuhn, Alfred Stieglitz, and others. Second copy contains full page print inserted at rear which functioned as advertisement for Carl Zeiss cameras.
