48 leaves + [54] ad pp. Each of the lithographed leaves with between 8 and 40 examples of crests, monograms, and arms pasted in. 21x16 cm. (8¼x6½"), original full red morocco decoratively lettered & tooled in gilt on font cove and spine, all edges gilt.

Hundreds of examples clipped from envelopes, letterheads, etc. then carefully mounted on each leaf, which has a pre-printed gilt design, around which the assembler could compose a design. Emblems in this album represent schools, ships, societies, military units, clubs, and monograms of individuals. A fine example of this once popular upper-class hobby.
