Description:
Lithographed map. Lithographed by Hoyer & Ludwig. 40.5x57 cm. (16x22½") plus decorative border.
Though undated, the poor quality of the paper indicates the map was published during the Civil War, a scarce Confederate imprint. Several other maps by James T. Paterson are in Parrish & Willingham, but not this one. OCLC/WorldCat lists only one copy, at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, dating it 1860s. There are three vignettes, State House, Nashville; Navy Yard, Memphis; and Entrance to the Mammoth Cave. Apparently issued as a folding map, though the covers, or more likely wrappers, are not present. Old ink name of Frank Carter in right margin. Provenance: Calvin P. Otto.
