Description:

40 lines including a postscript, written in ink on both sides of a lined sheet of light blue paper. 25.2x19.9 cm. (10x8").

McKenzie writes to a doctor, to whom he owes money he cannot pay. "...Inclosed you will fine account Current of our transaction - I am sorry that things did not turn out better but I can assure you that I have done my best for you... I lost 2000 in partnership with a _____ d____ rascal of an Englishman who kept a boarding house here... Will let you know all the news about this great place Downieville...but business is over don - great deal of Law and very little Justice..."

Condition:

Chips along one edge, a few short crease tears, else very good.
