Golf club - putter. A goose neck (Calamity Jane type) wood shafted putter. Club head stamped "D. Anderson, Special, St. Andrews Hand Forged, Made in Scotland, Serial #6822." Approximately 35½" in length. Also included is an ALs from Chuck Kocsis to Dr. Bob Redisch regarding the golf club.

Johnny Goodman’s putter which he used in 1929 to beat Bobby Jones in the U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach. Goodman, (1908-1970) came from an impoverished background in Nebraska, an orphan who traveled in a cattle car to reach this 1929 U.S. Amateur at Pebble where he sent the great Jones packing in the opening round. He remains the last amateur to win the U.S. Open. Included with the club is an ALS, dated 6/15/97 from Chuck Kocsis to Dr. Bob Redisch, in part, as follows: “The putter you purchased form me was given to me by Johnny Goodman in 1940. I was in California and played a round with John at Pebble Beach. He broke the shaft by accident on the 15th tee. He was going to throw it away. I said no, give it to me and I will fix it for you. He said “You can have it, I’ve used it a long time and I should get a new one”. Referring to the 1929 match with Jones, Goodman said, “It is a good thing I didn’t break it that day as I made some good putts to win one up. John won the National Open at North Shore in Chicago in 1933. He was on the Walker Cup Team with me in 1938. He beat me in the National Amateur at Cleveland in 1935.
